There are so many great stories out there, and yet so little time to devote to reading all of them. To be certain, some people voraciously devour every book they can get their hands on, but most people simply do not have the time for that much leisure. In response, there is a middle ground that may appeal to you-finding an audio book online.
First of all, when you purchase, or find a free, audio book online, you can immediately put it on your MP3 player or IPod. Then the book will travel with you, from work to the gym-you can even listen to it in the car.
There are numerous choices available, from a variety of sources and a variety of price points. If you always wanted to read the Harry Potter series but found the seven hundred or more pages far too time consuming and particularly daunting, then look for the audio book online. You can join the millions of others who are listening to their books in lieu of, or in conjunction with, reading them.
Not to be ignored is the usefulness of audio to children. By finding an audio book online that accompanies your children's favorite stories, they can have their favorite books read to them over and over. You can also encourage them to read along, fostering a love of reading that is so important to instill at an early age.
Of course, school-age children and teenagers can also benefit greatly from an audio book online. Reading is not a passion for many kids, and if they are assigned reading for school that they do not find intriguing, they won't read it at all. One of the best ways for them to be able to maintain their attention on the reading at hand is to hear it as well as see it. This learning tool is often used in schools to bolster comprehension, and it can be a fabulous tool for parents, as well.
Overall, a book is meant to teach and entertain, and avoiding them because of time constraints or simply because you have a hard time following long written passages is doing yourself a disservice. Instead of avoidance, finding an audio book online can be the perfect alternative, or even enhancement, to the wonderful world of books.
